Solar power and 4G solve different problems
Solar is a power option; 4G is a connection option. Some locations may need both, while others have mains power but no fixed broadband. We assess each requirement separately.
Check the location through the seasons
Shade, mounting position and seasonal daylight affect solar suitability. Recording behaviour and use also influence power demand. The system needs to be sized for the proposed location and task.
Account for mobile coverage and data
A mobile connection needs usable signal at the camera location and a suitable data plan. Discuss live viewing and recording expectations so data and ongoing costs are considered in the proposal.

Does a 4G camera need Wi-Fi?
A camera using its own 4G connection can communicate through a mobile network rather than site Wi-Fi. Suitable coverage and a compatible mobile data plan are required.
Will a solar camera work in winter?
That depends on daylight, shade, panel and battery capacity, and the equipment’s demand. We assess the location and explain the suitability and limitations of the proposed system.
Are there ongoing charges?
A mobile data plan may be needed. Other charges depend on the equipment and any chosen services. Ask for ongoing costs to be set out alongside the installation proposal.
